ABOUT US
Our story began in 2015, when designer Saara Renvall created the first version of Uurna. The death of her father and the search for a suitable cremation urn led her to reflect on the aesthetics of one’s final object, ultimately designing an urn that was dignified, timeless, and functional.
We spent ten years developing Uurna into its final production form. The journey included countless experiments, reflections, and pauses. Uurna was showcased at several design exhibitions, and it was first used in a funeral in 2017. The official launch took place at Habitare in September 2025.
We are a small Finnish family business. Our principle is to create only objects that are truly justified and meet a genuine need. We believe that objects related to death in particular are in need of both aesthetic and production-related renewal.
We have no ambitions for fast growth; we prefer to make less but do it well, rather than too much in a rush. Our goal is to craft products with a clear identity—objects that stand the test of time and form a meaningful part of human life.
